Guests open four kinds of DivePilot links without signing in: the booking page, the self-registration form, a waiver signing link and a dive log link. Each fails with its own screen, and the causes differ.

The booking page

The guest sees "Online booking not available", then a reason and "Please contact the dive centre directly.":

Reason shown Cause and fix
"This booking link is not valid" The link is outdated. See the section on changed links below, and share the current link from Settings, Registration.
"This dive centre does not accept online bookings" Both Fun dives and Courses are set to Off. See Turn on online booking.
"This dive centre is not currently accepting bookings" The subscription has expired or was cancelled. See The app is locked or asks me to subscribe.
"ThrottlerException: Too Many Requests" or "Something went wrong" Too many visits from one connection, or a network problem. Wait a minute and reload.

If the page opens but a trip or course you published is not listed, see A trip or course is missing from the booking page.

The registration form

Every failure to open the form shows the same screen, "Invalid registration link" with "This registration link is invalid or has expired. Please ask your dive centre for a new link.". Check an outdated link first, then the subscription, then try again a little later. A guest who shortens the link by hand lands on the sign-up page for new dive centers instead.

Registration and online booking share one key, so both links change together:

  • Rotate token under Settings, Registration (shown in Secret token mode) kills both links and every printed QR code at once.
  • Switching Link type retires the other kind of link immediately. Switching back to Secret token brings the earlier token links back to life.
  • In Dive centre name mode, saving the Dive centre settings tab changes the readable link, even when the name stays the same. If printed codes stopped working after someone saved that tab, copy the current link and reprint.

The page shows a red message and "This link may have expired, or it has already been used.":

  • "This signing link has expired": signing links last 48 hours. Send a new one from the customer's Waivers tab.
  • "Invalid signing link": the waiver has already been signed with this link, or the link was cut off. Check the customer's Waivers tab before sending another.

Uploading a paper copy or confirming a signature in person does not cancel a link that is still open. See Collect a customer's waivers.

The page shows "This dive log link is not valid" or "Invalid dive log link", with "This link may be invalid or no longer active.". Dive log links never expire, so the link was most likely cut off when it was copied, or the dive group behind it was deleted. Open it again from the original email; for the leader's form, staff can also use Open the dive log on the group's card on the trip page. See Dive logs after the trip.

Submitting fails

  • "The anti-spam check did not pass. Please try again.": the browser runs a hidden check before sending. Pressing the button again usually works; a very old browser, or a network that blocks the check, keeps failing.
  • "ThrottlerException: Too Many Requests": one internet connection can send at most ten bookings, ten registrations, ten waiver signatures and ten dive log saves per hour, and failed tries count too. A reception tablet or your shop Wi-Fi reaches that quickly on a busy morning. Let guests use their mobile data, or wait an hour after the first refused try.

Note: Before blaming the guest's phone, open the link yourself in a private window. You then see exactly what the guest sees.
