When a trip is over, DivePilot turns each dive group into a dive log. It asks the leader to fill in the details, then emails the customers in the group a link to the finished log.
What happens automatically
Every hour DivePilot looks for trips that have ended. A trip on its departure slot counts as ended when its day is over in your dive center's time zone, so the request goes out shortly after midnight. A trip with an exact departure time counts as ended one hour after that time. For each dive group that has a staff leader, it creates a dive log link and emails the leader a request to fill it in. Once the request has gone out, the same link is available on the trip page as the Open the dive log icon on the group's card, which opens the form in a new tab.
Note: A group without a staff leader gets no dive log request. Set the leader before the trip. If you set it after the trip, the request goes out at the next hourly check. A group is only asked once, so changing the leader after the request has gone out does not email the new leader.
What the leader fills in
The form is titled Dive log and asks for the dive site, the dive profile, the conditions, the equipment and notes, once per dive. It works on a phone without signing in. How to fill it in is covered in Fill in a dive log as the group leader.
What the divers get
The first time the log is saved with at least one dive, every customer in the group with an email address receives a link to it by email, in their own language and branded with your logo and contact details. The full flow is covered in How dive logs are requested and What divers receive after the dive.
