Rentals in the Operations group is the rental desk. Press New rental to check gear out to a customer.
Who and when
- Pick the Customer. Their saved sizes appear as pills: wetsuit, BCD, fins, mask.
- Choose Per trip with a Date and a Trip slot, or Date range with a Start date and an End date.
A trip rental charges the trip rate once per unit; a range rental charges the daily rate per unit per day, both ends inclusive; a bundle charges its own rate for the whole kit.
The lines
Press Add line per item:
- Pick the Category.
- For a pooled category, pick the Size chip; each shows how many are available. Set the Quantity.
- For a serialized category, pick the exact items in the grid, searchable by label and filterable by size. Items already out show On rent, items due for service show Due; out-of-service items are not listed.
Press Add bundle to insert a kit as one boxed group; its component rows are fixed, but pooled components with several sizes need a Size chip picked and serialized components need their items picked. Add a Note for staff and check the Total at the bottom, then press Create rental.
Limits: 50 lines, 50 units per line, 200 units per rental.
Overbooking
If you request more of a size than is still available for the window, the dialog shows an amber notice that the request exceeds availability, and still lets you create the rental. For a date range, gear rented for any day of the range counts against the whole range, so the notice can appear even when no single day is overbooked. Availability can go negative; on the overbooked days the Equipment page shows that size as short. An item that is still on another open rental is refused with "This item is already on an open rental".
From a booking or a trip
Fulfill on a booking's equipment card, or on a diver's gear chip on the trip page, opens the same dialog with the customer, the date and the requested lines filled in. From the trip it is a per-trip rental with the slot set. A request for a category or bundle that has since been disabled drops out of the prefill, and serialized gear still needs its items picked.
Status
A rental you create is Active right away. It becomes Returned by itself when the last line comes back. See Returns, damage and overdue gear.
