Bundles, a kit rented as one item

A bundle is a set of categories rented together at one price, such as a beginner set with BCD, regulator, wetsuit, fins and mask. Bundles live under Settings, then Bundles in the Equipment group.

The list

Each bundle is a row with its components as small labels, such as "BCD" or "Tank × 2", and a Disabled label when it is switched off. On the right are the Enabled switch and a pencil. Drag the rows to order them. A dive center can have up to 50 bundles.

A component whose category has been disabled gets a warning mark; hover over it for the reason. Such a bundle cannot be picked for a new rental. Guests are still offered it as long as one of its parts is neither switched off nor included in every dive.

Create a bundle

Press Add bundle, or the pencil on a row:

• Name, unique.
• Components lists your enabled categories, each with a tick box. Tick the ones in the set and give each a quantity; a counter says "2 of 9 selected". Tick at least one, up to 20, each category once. A component whose category was disabled since is marked Disabled category, and the bundle cannot be saved until you untick it or enable the category again. A component whose category is included in every fun dive is marked Included in every dive; it stays in the bundle, see below.

Save with Add bundle or Save changes.

Prices

The bundle window has no price fields. The price of the whole set is set in Settings, then Price list, section Equipment, where bundles carry a Bundle badge; see The price list. If you may see prices, the foot of the list has an Open price list button and the window of a new bundle reminds you of it.

A trip rental charges the bundle's trip rate once for the whole set, a range rental its daily rate per day; the components carry no price of their own inside it. On the guest catalogue, a kit appears only when prices are shown on the booking page, every component has a quantity of 1, and the kit has a rate (the trip rate for a trip booking, the daily rate otherwise) no higher than the sum of its components; when it is cheaper, DivePilot shows the difference as You save.

A component whose category is included in every fun dive, usually the tank, is skipped wherever the bundle is used: the booking page and the new booking dialog ask no size for it, and renting the bundle adds no line for it, since every fun dive booking already carries the tank. The bundle's price stays the same. Switch the category back to Guests choose and the component counts again everywhere.

Disable instead of delete

Like categories, bundles cannot be deleted; switch Enabled off instead. A disabled bundle cannot be picked for a new rental and is not offered to guests.

On a rental

Press Add bundle in the rental dialog to insert the whole set as a boxed group. The component rows are fixed; for serialized components you pick the exact items, or only a size where the category picks no specific item. A component included in every fun dive gets no row. See Rent gear out.
