On your booking page a guest can choose Ask for a number of dives instead of picking trips: how many dives (Number of dives), the First day and Last day of their stay and, if they like, a Preferred time and a note. The choice is there while you accept fun dive requests, that is in Scheduled + requests and Requests only mode, and when Dives per person is above 1 (People per booking does not matter for it). It counts toward Dives per person.

A request is not a booking yet and holds no spot on any boat. You decide which trips the diver joins.

Where requests appear

  • On the dashboard, the Dives to schedule panel lists open requests. A dashboard you saved before it existed shows it only once you switch it on under Customize, see The dashboard.
  • The Bookings page has the same list in its own Dives to schedule section.
  • On a booking made together with others, the Booked together card lists its requests under Requested dives.

Each row names the diver, the dates ("12 Oct to 19 Oct"), a preferred time ("Prefers …") and how far it has got, for example "4 of 10 dives scheduled". Each person has their own request, so a couple asking for 10 dives each shows as two requests.

Schedule the dives

  1. Press Schedule on a request.
  2. The dialog Schedule dives for … lists the departures between the first and last day of the request, each with its dives. The preferred time is only a hint: every departure in those dates is listed. Tick the ones the diver joins. A trip the diver is already on says Already booked.
  3. Press Book selected. DivePilot books only that diver on each chosen trip, Reserved as usual, linked to the request. Each booking gets the gear included in every fun dive at the size the guest chose with the request.

The request then counts the dives of the trips booked: a two-dive trip counts as 2, and cancelled bookings no longer count. The dialog shows how many are selected and how many are still to schedule. If no trip is planned between those dates, it says so: create the trips first, see Create a boat trip. You can schedule a request in several rounds, for example the first days now and the rest later. Confirm and seat the new bookings as usual; the guest gets a confirmation email once it is confirmed.

Close a request

When the diver has what they need, press Mark as done; it leaves the open list. This is your call and never automatic, because guests often end up doing fewer or more dives than they asked. If the diver no longer comes, press Cancel request and confirm; bookings already made for it stay as they are. Cancel all on a Booked together card cancels every open request of it too, see Bookings made together.

The price estimate

The guest's estimate counted the requested dives at your per-dive price, with any volume discount. The bookings you create are priced like any booking. See The price list.

The bill

A booking you schedule from a request reaches the guest's bill like any booking, with the nitrox and the gear the request carried. See Bills.
