A booking can be edited as long as it is neither cancelled nor completed. Open it and press Edit; the dialog is titled with the booking number.
What you can change
- Date (Course start date for a course), and for a fun dive the Departure slot. A slot that has since been switched off in your settings stays selectable for this booking.
- The type, Fun dive or Course, and for a course the Course template.
- The Equipment requests and the equipment note.
The customer, the booking number and the status cannot be changed here. To book someone else, cancel and create a new booking.
What is locked
- The type switch is greyed out while the booking has a course enrolment. Choose Remove enrolment on the course first; Withdraw student keeps the enrolment and cancels the booking instead.
- Switching a seated fun dive booking to a course is refused with "This booking is seated on a boat trip - remove it from the trip before changing its type".
- Switching a course booking with an enrolment to a fun dive is refused with "This booking is linked to a course enrolment - withdraw the enrolment first".
Move a guest to another day
Changing the date or the departure does not move the guest on the trip. If they are already seated in a dive group, they stay in that group on the old trip while the booking says otherwise.
Note: Take the guest off the trip first: open the trip, choose Remove from the group on their row, then edit the booking's date. The booking returns to Reserved, appears under Unassigned bookings on the trip with the new date and departure, and you seat them there.
If the guest picked a trip online, the booking stays tied to that trip until you seat them: the booking page still shows the old trip as Booked for this trip, and pressing Confirm instead of seating them emails the guest the old trip's date.
Nobody is emailed
Editing sends no email, not even for online bookings. Tell the guest yourself if the date changed; their email is on the customer card. Seating an online booking again, as in the note above, does send the guest a new "You're confirmed" email for the new trip.
Rental gear
The equipment list in the dialog replaces what was there. If a line is for equipment or a kit that has since been switched off, saving is refused with "This equipment category is disabled and cannot be rented" or "This equipment bundle is disabled and cannot be rented", even when you only changed the date, until you remove that line. Choosing the equipment or kit on a line prefills the size from the customer's profile when it matches one of your stock sizes. Clearing the list removes the requests. Saving also copies the wetsuit, BCD, fins, mask and weight sizes on the list into the customer's profile.
