Departure slots are the fixed departure times your dive center runs each day, such as a morning boat and an afternoon boat. Every trip and fun dive booking is attached to one, and so is a per-trip rental, so they are the first thing to set up.

Add a slot

  1. Open Settings at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Departure slots under General.
  2. Press Add slot. A new row appears with 08:00 to 11:30 already filled in and the slot switched on.
  3. Give the slot a name, for example AM or Morning boat. A name can be up to 30 characters long and has to be different from the other slots.
  4. Set the departure time and the usual return time. Times move in 15-minute steps, and the return has to be later than the departure.
  5. Press Save changes.

Note: Save changes stays greyed out until every row is valid and something has actually changed. A slot with an empty name blocks the button without showing a message, so check the name fields first if it will not enable.

Rules to keep in mind

  • A dive center can have up to 12 slots.
  • At least one slot has to stay switched on.
  • The order of the rows is the order slots are offered in when you pick one, for example for a new trip, booking or rental.

Switch a slot off instead of deleting it

While a trip, booking or rental uses a slot, its row shows a padlock instead of the delete icon and it cannot be removed. Cancelled bookings and rentals still count. Use the switch on the row to turn it off instead. Trips, bookings and rentals that already use it keep it, but it is no longer offered for new ones.

A slot that no trip, booking or rental uses can be deleted with the bin icon. The last remaining slot cannot be deleted. If a slot was put to use only recently, its row can still show the bin, and saving the deletion fails with "This departure slot is used by trips or bookings - disable it instead of deleting it" and brings the row back.

Where the change shows up

Saving updates the trip list, the calendar and the staff schedule straight away, so a changed time is visible on every departure block at once. A trip with its own exact departure time keeps that time.

During setup

The same editor is part of the setup wizard you see when you first sign in. There, Save & continue applies the slots, or Save when you open the Essentials step on its own with Set up on the dashboard.
