A preset is a ready-made set of permissions you pick when adding or editing a team member. They live under Settings, then Roles & presets in the Team group, visible to people who may manage permissions.

The built-in presets

Preset In words
Admin Everything, including handing out permissions, the subscription, deleting the dive center and closing pay periods
Manager Admin minus four things: managing permissions, the subscription, deleting the dive center, and creating or closing a pay period
Staff The front desk: customers, bookings, trips end to end, waivers, rentals, the whole rota with duties and time off, own pay. No course teaching, no settings beyond printing the registration QR
Boat master Divemaster plus running the trip: dive groups, participants, seating, guests and editing bookings
Instructor Divemaster plus courses: own courses, enrolments, sessions, attendance and recording certifications
Divemaster The narrowest: own trips, own rota row, own pay, guest lists, waiver checks and rentals

Boat master and Instructor inherit the Divemaster's "own" scope, so an instructor sees only their own trips and their own row on the rota unless you widen it.

Staff is also what a new user starts with: the add-user dialog pre-ticks its permissions, and ticks nothing if the built-in Staff preset has been deleted.

Presets only prefill

Applying a preset copies its boxes into that one person. Afterwards the two are unrelated: editing, renaming or deleting a preset changes nobody's access. The delete dialog says as much.

Create your own

Press Add preset:

  • Name, 2 to 40 characters, unique.
  • Start from copies an existing preset's permissions to edit.
  • Tick at least one permission and press Add preset.

A dive center can have up to 40 presets. Built-in presets can be edited and deleted too; Restore built-in presets appears when one is missing and recreates only the missing ones, never touching the rest. A missing built-in is skipped while another preset already has its English name, for example one of your own called Staff.

Renaming

Picking a preset from the suggestions under Role label stores the preset's name as the label; Apply preset leaves the role label unchanged. Only the untouched English built-in names are translated on screen; a renamed preset shows its name as typed.
