A dive center can ask you to register online before your first dive. You type your own details once, and the dive center has them on file when you walk in.
Open the registration form
Use the link the dive center sent you, or point your phone's camera at their registration QR code, for example on a poster that says "Scan to check in". The form opens with "You're registering with" and the dive center's name.
Fill it in
The form has up to four steps: Basic info, Address, Experience and Health and gear. The last one also asks whether you bring your own gear or need to rent some, so the dive center can prepare the right sizes. Each step is explained in Fill in the details form.
On the last step, tick the consent box, which reads "I agree that … stores and uses my details to handle my booking and my visit." with the dive center's name, and press Submit.
After you submit
You see You're all set! with a note that the dive center has been notified, your check-in code, and three points under What happens next:
- The dive center now has your details on file.
- Bring a form of ID and your certification card on your first dive.
- For questions before then, contact the dive center directly.
At the same time, an email, "Your details are with …", goes to the email address you entered, with the same check-in code. If it does not arrive, see Emails you may receive.
Your check-in code
Under Your check-in code you see a QR code with the line "Show this code when you arrive. It takes the team straight to your details." Press Save image to keep it on your phone as a picture; the email carries it too.
When you arrive, show the code on your phone or on a printout. The team scans it with their phone and your details open straight away, so there is nothing to spell out or fill in again at the counter.
- The code is meant for the dive center's team. If you scan it yourself, a DivePilot sign-in page for staff opens. You do not need an account, so just close it.
- No code with you? Give your name at the counter: the team finds your details without it.
Registering does not book a dive
Registration only leaves your details. It does not reserve a spot on a boat or a course, or any rental gear, and it does not sign a waiver.
- To dive, book through the dive center's booking page if they have one, see Book a dive or course online, or arrange it with them directly.
- If the dive center needs a waiver, they send you a separate signing link or have you sign at the shop, see Sign a waiver on your phone.
Register once
- If you already booked online, the booking form has already sent your details. Register as well only if the dive center asks you to.
- Every form you send reaches the dive center as a new entry, even with the same email address. If you registered twice, or registered after booking, tell the dive center so they can combine the records.
- One form registers one person. Everyone in your group fills in their own.
- Been with this dive center before? Ask them for a link to check your details instead of registering again, see Update your details with a link from your dive center.
Details changed?
You cannot open what you sent on your own. If your email address, phone number or certification changes, tell the dive center: they update it for you, or send you a link where you check and correct your details yourself, see Update your details with a link from your dive center.
If the form does not open, or shows "Invalid registration link" or "The form could not be loaded", see A link or page does not work.
