Gear sizes and rental needs on the profile

A diver's gear lives on their profile so nobody asks for a wetsuit size twice. Staff record it on the Health and gear step of the customer dialog; guests record it themselves when they register online.

What is recorded

Under Equipment the dialog first asks the same question as the guest form: I'm bringing my own or I need some gear. Then, per item, whether the diver owns it and which size they take:

• Wetsuit, BCD, Fins and Mask each with an Owns or Rental toggle and a size, up to 30 characters.
• Regulator and Dive computer with an Owns toggle only.
• Weight belt in kilograms, the amount the diver normally uses.

If your dive center offers equipment rentals online and has set up rental categories, the list shows your own categories instead, with Bringing my own, Need to rent or Not needed per item, size chips where the category has stock sizes, a Weight-belt kilos field on a weights category in place of the Weight belt field, and a Special wishes field.

Where staff see it

The customer's Diving tab has an Equipment card with all six items, the size on the right and a pill reading Owns or Rental, plus the weight and the special wishes. An item the diver said they do not need shows as Rental with no size, because DivePilot only stores owned or not.

What guests fill in

On the self-registration form the guest answers Do you need rental equipment? Choosing I need some gear shows your categories, or a standard list of wetsuit, BCD, fins, mask, regulator, dive computer and weight belt when you offer no rental categories online; the guest picks Bringing my own, Need to rent or Not needed for each item, plus a size where the item has sizes. Both owned and rented items are written to the profile with their size; Not needed writes nothing.

Note: DivePilot links a rental category to the profile by its name, for guests, staff and bookings alike, so a choice reaches the profile only when the category's name is recognisable, such as wetsuit, BCD, fins, mask, regulator, computer or weights, in any of the seven languages. A category called "Torch" is accepted on the form but does not land on the profile. Keep category names plain.

Sizes prefill rental requests

When you add rental gear to a booking, the size is filled from the profile if it matches one of the category's stock sizes, ignoring capital letters. A profile that says "Large" does not prefill a category whose sizes are S, M and L, so record sizes the way your stock is labelled. Saving the booking also writes the wetsuit, BCD, fins and mask sizes picked there back to the profile.
